NightChurch News, 12 October

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: Nicholas Tuohy will bring us the first message in our new series: “Knowing & Loving God”. Alice Foote is leading the service, Lauren Morgan is organising the music team, Hannah Crothers will lead in prayer, Tim Mitchell and Jono Davenport are on audio/data, Sarah Vosti and Nic Barclay will be providing supper, and Jadon Dutra is convening. Thanks everyone.

CHURCH WORKING BEE: Saturday 11 October, 8.30am-12.30pm. There is a lot of work to be done so we need a big team of volunteers! Whether you can come for just half an hour or the whole time, every bit counts. Sign up on Facebook: www.facebook.com/events/1504604396453049.

LOVE ABBOTSFORD: Sunday 12 October, 12-4pm at 229 Hoddle St, Collingwood. There will be sport, music, face painting, a BBQ, and it will be a chance to continue to build relationships with the people there. Please contact Mary-Anne Philip for more information. www.facebook.com/events/552537181513515.

FILM SCREENINGS: In the month of October, Ringwood Church of Christ will be screening all of the Wanderlust Productions films on Thursday nights at 7pm, leading up to the viewing of the ‘Holy Ghost’ film which was released at the beginning of September. The first session is this week, Thursday 9 October, starting with ‘Finger of God’. For more information, visit: www.facebook.com/events/812449945442764.

EVANGELISM TRAINING EVENTS: Last year we had Denis Pethers from the UK come to speak at KBC on the subject of sharing our faith naturally and effectively. The BUV is hosting another trip this year and two upcoming events we encourage you to consider are:

  • Addressing the Crisis of Confidence in Evangelism
    11am – 3pm (lunch provided).
  • Get Inspired to Share your Faith in New Ways                                   7pm – 9.30pm.

Both events are on Thursday 23 October at Balwyn Baptist Church and cost $10 each. Who should come? Anyone who wants to be able to share faith in a natural way. Anyone who wants to be encouraged themselves, and encourage others, to talk naturally about what is good news.

KEW COMMUNITY CAROLS: Sunday 7 December. We need people to get involved – helping on the day with setting up, sausage sizzle, activities for kids, and other bits and pieces. Please see Phil Prior or Nicholas Tuohy if you want to get involved or you have some ideas for the day.

TITHING: A reminder that you can give your weekly offering via direct debit to the church account.

PRAYER: There is prayer at the back of the church at 5pm every Sunday. We’d love you to join with us in this important ministry!

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
