NightChurch News 15 September

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: We conclude our Revelation series with Nicholas Tuohy preaching on the letter to Smyrna. We will also share in communion together. Priscilla van Brummelen is leading the service, Katie Adams and Joshi Philip are organising the music team, Dan Follent will lead in prayer, Kristy Chapman is convening, Phil Prior and Timothy Mitchell are on audio/data, and Lauren Morgan and Grace Loh are providing supper. Thanks everyone.

KEWMUNITY OF WOMEN: This Thursday at 7.30pm in the Velvet Lounge, we will be continuing our discussion about sexuality with ‘Dating, Singleness and Marriage’. This is open to all women, please feel free to invite your (girl)friends! If you’re interested, please contact Laura Baker for more details or join the Kewmunity of Women group on Facebook!

HOSPITALITY LUNCHES: Happening this Sunday! All who indicated they would be available to attend a lunch should have received an invitation, and know who their host or hostess will be and where to go, and what they will contribute to the meal. If by any chance you have missed out, or now find yourself free to attend a lunch, we really want as many people as possible to be included.  There will be space at many of the homes, so don’t be shy, just let Margaret Manley know.

MELBOURNE TRUTH LAB: “Another Way of Doing Life” featuring guest speaker Shane Claiborne. Christians are meant to be radical non-conformists, interrupting the patterns of our world with prophetic imagination – a holy counterculture. Shane will share stories of contemporary communities who are living with beautiful creativity and sometimes getting in a little trouble for it. After all, the Kingdom of God is not just something we hope for when we die, but something that we are to bring on earth as it is in heaven. Let’s turn off our TVs, pick up our Bibles, and rethink the way we live. Thursday 3 October, 7pm at NewHope Baptist (Blackburn). Tickets $10 at door. http://surrender.org.au/.

PRAYER: The House is hosting prayer time at 7am on weekdays. There is also prayer at the back of the church at 6.30pm every Sunday night. We’d love you to join with us in this important ministry!

WEBSITE OF THE WEEK: This week I thought I’d feature an interview with Mark Burnett producer of The Bible series which was recently on TV. A direct link to the file is at http://historymakersradio.com/mp3/20130716_Mark_Burnett.mp3.

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
