THANKS to Em Fox who led our service, Nick Tuohy for his message, Cail Rayment who shared something of his story, Joshi Philip for coordinating the music team, Luke Toohill and Tim Gray worked on audio/data, Amy Hunter brought supper and Corey Leslie as the convener.

We hear the men of NC have had a great weekend at Guys’ weekend! We learnt just a little from Mat Hunter, and will see more when they show us the sights and sounds of it.

SUNDAY 16 OCTOBER: Jono Davenport is leading our service, Nicholas Tuohy is speaking on Jesus meets religious people, Mark 2:18-3:6, Mat Hunter is coordinating the music team, Phil Prior and Tim Gray are on audio/data, Amy Williams and Josh Hardidge are bringing supper and Laura Holley is the convener. We will share communion together.

COMING UP:

  • Micah Challenge: Steve Cooke works with World Vision with a focus on Micah Challenge, a global campaign of Christians coming together to encourage our national leaders to work towards halving global poverty by 2015. On Thursday 20 October, 7.30pm, an Introduction to Micah Challenge will be held at St Aidan’s (Uniting Church, 17-21 Duggan St, North Balwyn). The focus:
  • What are the Millenium Development goals (MDGs) and how were they formulated?
  • Why are they important?
  • What progress has been made, and what still needs to be done?
  • Who can you connect with as you become a Micah Supporter—and where do you go from here?

  • Katie Ward is in a circus show coming up and says, “It would be awesome to see lots of friendly NightChurch faces in the crowd. It’s on from Nov 2 to 5 at 8pm (additional matinee show on the 5th at 2pm). Tickets are $15 adult, $10 concession and $8 for groups of 8 or more. 7-Zip available at www.7-zip.org is an open source Windows file archiver with a high compression ratio. I’ve found it offers particularly good compression of text files if you use the .7z compression format.
