NightChurch News 17 Nov

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: We conclude our series on Philippians, with Nicholas Tuohy preaching on Philippians 4 – ‘Joy, Peace & Purpose’. We will also share communion together. Matt Hill is leading the service, Lauren Morgan is organising the music team, Andy Crawford will lead in prayer, Dan Lansdown is convening, Zach Moore and Timothy Mitchell are on audio/data, and Marny Croot’s household is providing supper. Thanks everyone.

CHURCH GATHERING & DINNER: This Sunday at 4.30pm in the hall. Please plan to be there so we can pray, share and discern what God is doing among us, and share a meal together. Our main items of business will be pastoral reports, a report from the Family ministry review group, finance report, and an update from the Diaconate. Our Vietnamese brothers and sisters are cooking dinner and we get to donate to help raise money for the mission trip in Jan 2014.

TRIVIA NIGHT: On Thursday 21 November from 7.30pm to 10pm, NightChurch will be hosting a Trivia Night in the church hall! Come along and join a table for just $10 per person, or organise your own table of 8 for $70. Invite some friends, bring your A-game, get competitive or just have a fun relaxed evening together. Basic supper will be provided, but feel free to bring something more gourmet for your table to enjoy if that’s how you roll. For more information or to pre-book, please contact Paul Pallot or Luke and Romona Boswell. FB event: http://tinyurl.com/q5wzxc7.

CHURCH WORKING BEE: Saturday 23 November, 8am-1pm. Come along and help us get the church/hall cleaned up and organised! There is a list of jobs in the church foyer – feel free to add your name, or add any jobs you think we’ve missed. Come when you can, leave when you must. Morning tea will be provided! Contact Phil Prior for more details.

KEW COMMUNITY CAROLS: Sunday 1 December from 6pm. There will be a community market with stalls providing ethical options for Christmas gifts. There will also be food stalls, a sausage sizzle and kids’ activities. The carols program will commence at 7.30pm. Please note that there will be no NightChurch service on this evening. Come to the carols instead! We would love you to help in any way you can – general setup, running the sausage sizzle, face-painting and kids’ activities, etc. Please talk to Nick or Laura about how you can get involved!

PING PONG-A-THON 2013: 20-30 men from churches in Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs are needed on Nov 22-23 to participate in the upcoming 2013 Ping Pong-A-Thon, an event that will see 300 blokes across Melbourne/Adelaide raise $100,000 for seven amazing organisations who protect/care for children and teens impacted by human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

To participate, men simply:

1. Register online at www.pingpongmarathon.com/register.

This is a unique, fun event that helps Aussie blokes of all ages stand up for justice. The Melbourne City event is held at Fitzroy North Church of Christ but men can participate in other venues around Melbourne. If you’d like to sponsor the team please visit: www.pingpongmarathon.com/donate.
