NightChurch News, 18 October

This Week @ NightChurch

We continue our series ‘Fruitfulness on the Frontline’, with Paul Pallot preaching on the theme ‘Make Good Work’. We will also share in communion together. Bree Monahan is leading the service, Lauren Morgan is organising the music team, Stu Mackenzie and Tim Mitchell are on audio/data, Coby Docking will lead in prayer, Zach Moore and Ali Brown will be providing supper, Naomi Rock and James Docking will be available for prayer after the service, and Marny Croot is convening.

Coming Events:

  • NEXT Open Night: Thursday 15 October, 7pm at Whitley College. NEXT is designed for post-high school students and young adults who are in transition between whatever is now and whatever is ‘next’. NEXT develops faith through carefully structured experiences of spirituality, cultural discernment, purposeful living and justice-seeking opportunities. Come along and find out more at this Open Night event.
  • Boroondara Interfaith Network ‘International Day of Non-Violence’: Sunday 18 October, 2-5pm at Kew Court House. An afternoon of poetry and discussion about respectful relationships in celebration of International Day of Non-Violence, including a panel discussion on different aspects of love. A vegetarian afternoon tea will be provided. Pray for Nicholas Tuohy as he is one of the presenters and panellists.
  • KBC Working Bee: Saturday 14 November, 8am-1pm. There are jobs of all shapes and sizes that need doing across our properties, and we’d love for you to lend a hand! Come when you can, leave when you must. A sausage sizzle lunch will be provided afterwards. facebook.com/events/782826998506782

KSR Employment Opportunity

The Kew Student Residence is looking to employ an experienced office administrator with bookkeeping skills. The position is part time (0.4) but will be spread over three days. The position description can be viewed at the following link: www.kewstudentresidence.com.au/about/employment. For more details, contact Anouchka Chatelier on employment@kewstudentresidence.com.au.

Office Volunteers Required

We are looking for volunteers to help out in the church office from Mon 30 Nov – Fri 18 Dec, while our administrator is on leave. Tasks include checking emails and phone messages, editing and printing newsletters, and other small admin jobs. If you are available to assist on a weekday between 10am-12:30pm or 1-3:30pm, please contact the office (info@kewbaptist.net.au). We are hoping to put together a roster of volunteers to cover this time.

Mission Prayer Breakfast

We run a weekly Mission Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday mornings, 7-8am in The Lounge (upstairs in the hall). We are serving porridge (delicious!) as part of breakfast – something to warm you up before you face the rest of the day. Don’t miss out! Remember you can also join our 5pm prayer gathering on Sundays before the service in the church building.

Tithing

A reminder that you can give your offering via direct transfer to the church account.
