NightChurch News, 22 March

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: We will continue our series “Church. What’s The Point?” with Nicholas Tuohy preaching on the theme of ‘Human Transformation’. Amy Hunter is leading the service, Lauren Morgan is organising the music team, Zach Moore and James Crawford are on audio/data, Grace Walton will lead in prayer, Janine Hindle will be providing supper, and Rachel Bakker is convening. Thanks everyone.

This Sunday night after NightChurch we’ll be heading down to ROX Café for some fine fare (at reasonable prices – basically all meals $10) and a chance to continue hanging out and getting to know each other after church. 245 High Street, Kew – just a 5min walk from the church, from about 7:30pm on Sunday night. All welcome!

EASTER @ KBC: Check out what’s on at Kew Baptist for Easter Week: http://kewbaptist.org.au/easter-week-2015

EQUIP – DISCIPLESHIP, MENTORING & LEADERSHIP: Following on from some excellent leadership training nights last year, we have set in place four events for this year. The aim of these nights is to encourage and equip people in the church to be better leaders and followers of Christ by being mentored and taught by mature and wise Christian leaders. Some of the areas to be explored are:

  • Christ-likeness in life and leadership
  • Refining both internal character and external actions
  • Leading teams and running effective meetings
  • How to recruit and motivate volunteers

So put these dates in your schedule now: 16 April (Peter Corney), 11 June (Peter Corney), 10 September (Peter Corney), 12 November (TBA).

RELAY FOR LIFE: Get amongst this awesome event that will be heaps of fun, all for a worthy cause as we raise much needed funds for the Cancer Council. Check out the event page on Facebook and follow the links to get yourself signed up. Team name is ‘Kew Student Res’, team captain is Graeme Younger, cost is $20. Everyone welcome to join! www.facebook.com/events/1574821256098576

HOSPITALITY SUNDAY: Sign up to join in/host a meal with others from Kew Baptist on Sunday 26 April. For more information, please contact Deirdre Willis.

PRAYER BREAKFASTS: We run a weekly Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday mornings, 7-8am in The Lounge (upstairs in the hall). Put it in your schedule and start the day with worship, prayer, food and friends at KBC. Remember you can also join our 5pm prayer gathering before the service in the church building.

TITHING: A reminder that you can give your weekly offering via direct debit to the church account.

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
