NightChurch News, 22 November

This Week @ NightChurch

We have the Res End of Year Service, celebrating ‘the year that was’ at the Kew Student Residence. Marny Croot is leading the service, Rachel Bakker is organising the music team, Tim Mitchell and Ben Ramsay are on audio/data, Grace will lead in prayer, and Janine Hindle is convening.

After the service, you are invited to The House backyard (next-door to the church) for a delicious pizza dinner. $5 per person for non-Res students. Everyone welcome!

Annual Church Gathering: Sunday 29 November

A reminder that we have our Annual Church Gathering coming up on Sunday 29 November, directly after the 10am service (in Newnham Hall). This is an opportunity for us to gather as a church community for prayer, fellowship, to hear from our leaders, and listen and discern together what the Holy Spirit is saying to us. Copies of the agenda and the complete book of annual reports will be made available this week. Please note that there is also a proposed constitutional amendment for consideration; further details are available to review in the church foyer, or upon request from the church office.

Kew Community Carols by Candlelight

Sunday 6 December at Petrie Square (corner of Cotham Rd & Charles St, Kew). Come along for a night of fun, carols, and food! There will be a sausage sizzle from 6:30pm, and the official carols program will commence at 7:30pm. It will be a great night to hang out, have fun, and get into the spirit of Christmas with some festival carols. Invite your friends and family!

We also need some volunteers on the day to assist with setting up (4:30-6pm) and packing down (9-10pm). If you are available to help out, please sign up on the clipboards at church, or contact the office. www.facebook.com/events/875078115940430

NightChurch Summer Retreat

From 11-13 December, the annual NightChurch Summer Retreat will be happening! It’ll be a low-key weekend away for anyone and everyone from NightChurch, somewhere in the bush, with an emphasis on low-cost accommodation, relaxation and good times. Put the dates in your diary, tell your friends, and watch this space for more details!

2016 Global Exposure Trip

Kew Baptist Church will be leading a Global Exposure trip to South East Asia in 2016 (either July or September) to visit some of our supported cross-cultural mission workers. If you are interested in getting involved, or simply finding out more, please contact Paul Pallot: paul@kewbaptist.net.au. Initial expressions of interest are needed by the end of the year.

This is an annual lecture series that aims to address the ideas, beliefs, taboos and issues that shape and drive our culture. There will be six talks over three Thursday nights in November at The Ponds. Doors open 6pm, first talk starts at 7pm sharp.
