NightChurch News 26 August

THIS SUNDAY: Mary-Anne Philip is leading the service and Nicholas Tuohy will be speaking on ‘Holy Spirit in the Life and Ministry of the Apostle Paul’. Grace Lawry is organising the music team, Laura Holley will lead in prayer, Corey Leslie is convening, Tom Holley and Amy Williams are on audio/data, and Jono and Crispin Newmarch are providing supper. Thanks everyone.

ANNUAL CHURCH GATHERING: This Sunday we are meeting at 11.15am for lunch followed by the church meeting starting at 12pm. Please plan to be there, and pray that God’s desired direction for the church will be clearly heard during our prayer and discussion time.

USE OF HALL: Our church has a number of facilities available for use, including the main hall, the basketball court, and the Velvet Lounge. If you would like to use any of these spaces, please ensure that you first contact the church office to make your booking. We have a number of groups and individuals who use the hall, including external parties who pay to hire our facilities. We want to honour our agreements with all parties, so it is helpful for all bookings to be made through the office. This allows us to better manage the church calendar and accommodate everyone’s requests. For more information on facility booking, please contact the office: info@kewbaptist.net.au.

Remember: If you are the last person to leave the church or the hall, please ensure that all lights and heaters are turned off and that all doors are locked behind you.

CONTACT DETAILS: With so many newcomers to NightChurch over the last year, our church database is no longer current and we are missing details for a number of people. Over the next few weeks we will be trying to fill these gaps by collecting contact details (primarily email addresses and mobile numbers) to help us maintain an accurate database for our congregation. Please note that these details will only be used for church-related matters and will not be passed on or publicised.

MISSION EXPOSURE COURSE: Urban Neighbours of Hope (UNOH) are running a one week live-in Mission Exposure Course from September 21-28. For more details contact Brad Coath.

PRAYER:

  • Come along to the weekly prayer meetings at the church – 6.30am every Tuesday!
  • We have started a new “Prayer Alert” email list for sending out more immediate requests that come in from people. If you would like to receive these alerts, or if you would like to opt out of the weekly bulletin/prayer email, please advise the church office.

HOSPITALITY LUNCHES will be held on Sunday 9 September, so we’d love 15-18 people or couples to offer to host a lunch, in their home, or even in a park or restaurant.  Everyone will be invited to attend and contribute to one of these lunches. This is a great way to get to know others at KBC.  If you can host a group, contact Deirdre Willis or Laura Holley. Please also let us know if you will be away or unable to take part.

HOLY SPIRIT SERIES: Copies of ‘Forgotten God’ by Francis Chan and ‘Discovering the Holy Spirit in the New Testament’ by Keith Warrington are available from the church for just $10 and $5 respectively. Grab your copies this Sunday night!

WEBSITE OF THE WEEK: FileHippo at www.filehippo.com has a large collection of freeware programs available to download. They also provide an Update checker program that will search your hard disk for programs that are out of date and let you download the latest versions of those programs.
