NightChurch News 3 November

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: We continue our series on Philippians, with Nicholas Tuohy preaching on Philippians 2 – ‘Unity & Humility in Christ’. Dan Follent is leading the service, Tom Tuena is organising the music team, Mel Hill will lead in prayer, Kristy Chapman is convening, Jacob Taylor and Jadon Dutra are on audio/data, and Luke and Romona Boswell are providing supper. Thanks everyone.

PHILIPPIANS STUDY GUIDE: Nicholas has prepared a study guide and journal to accompany our current sermon series on Philippians. You can pick up a copy from the church foyer, or download it from our website: http://tinyurl.com/o3o3hdg.

OFFICE HOURS: Please note that the church office will be closed Nov 4-5 for the long weekend. We will reopen on Wednesday 6 November.

TRIVIA NIGHT: On Thursday 21 November from 7.30pm to 10pm, NightChurch will be hosting a Trivia Night in the church hall! Come along and join a table for just $10 per person, or organise your own table of 8 for $70. Invite some friends, bring your A-game, get competitive or just have a fun relaxed evening together. Basic supper will be provided, but feel free to bring something more gourmet for your table to enjoy if that’s how you roll. For more information or to pre-book, please contact Paul Pallot or Luke and Romona Boswell. FB event: http://tinyurl.com/q5wzxc7.

CHURCH WORKING BEE: Saturday 23 November, 8am-1pm. Come along and help us get the church/hall cleaned up and organised! There is a list of jobs in the church foyer – feel free to add your name, or add any jobs you think we’ve missed. Come when you can, leave when you must. Morning tea will be provided! Contact Phil Prior for more details.

RESOURCE CATALOGUE: If you’re looking for resources for your small group or for your personal study, check out what’s available from the KBC office: http://kewbaptist.org.au/resource-catalogue/.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT: The Camping Program is taking a team to Samoa at the end of November for their schoolies alternative camp (SAC’s) and would like to take over some sporting equipment to bless the two schools they visit. If anyone has access to cheap or donated sporting equipment, please contact thecampingprogram@gmail.com.

PING PONG-A-THON 2013: We’re trying to get 300 Aussie blokes involved this year to raise $100,000 to help change the lives of some of the most exploited young people on the planet. Would love you to get involved at one of our three Melbourne venues (Blackburn, Werribee or Cheltenham). If you can’t participate, please consider ‘liking’ our FB page and sharing a status update about the event to help create a bit of online buzz about the event. Register or sponsor at www.pingpongmarathon.com. FB Page: http://tinyurl.com/kyrcv27.

PRAYER: There is prayer at the back of the church at 6.30pm every Sunday night. We’d love you to join with us in this important ministry!

WEBSITE OF THE WEEK: This week I thought I’d feature the video MTR 1377 AM Melbourne Talk Radio is suddenly Shut Down. An embarrassing moment in radio when former Melbourne station MTR was suddenly closed down during the 5pm news bulletin on the 2nd of March 2012. You can watch the short video at http://tinyurl.com/qb9c2og.

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
