NightChurch News 4 November

THIS SUNDAY: Coby Docking is leading the service as we continue our series on ‘God, Love, Sex n Stuff’ with Nicholas Tuohy as our speaker. Katie Adams is organising the music team, James Docking will lead in prayer, Phil Prior and James Hayes are on audio/data, Laura Holley is convening, and Katie Adams is providing supper. Thanks everyone.

NIGHTCHURCH CAMP: Happening this weekend! If you haven’t already paid, please do so by Wednesday 31 October – banking details are available on the NightChurch Camp event page on Facebook. More details will be posted on Facebook during the week, so stay tuned and get ready for fun times!

CORNERSTONE: On Sunday night, Tilly Walker and Caitlyn Pryse shared about their involvement in Cornerstone (missional community in Swan Hill). If you would like to know more about Cornerstone, see: www.cornerstone.edu.au. If you are interested in visiting Cornerstone to get a taste of the experience and community, there is an upcoming event ‘Two Weeks at Swan Hill’ running from November 19-30 that introduces you to life at Cornerstone. More details are available on the website.

BOOKS FOR SALE: To coincide with the current NightChurch series on sex and sexuality, the following books are available for purchase from the church:

1         The Meaning of Marriage – Timothy Keller ($15)

2         Sex God – Rob Bell ($10)

3         Sex and the Supremacy of Christ – John Piper ($15)

CHURCH OFFICE HOURS: Please note that the church office will be closed on Monday 5 November and Tuesday 6 November for the long weekend.

RED FROGS: There is still time to register as a Red Frogs volunteer for Schoolies this year! This is a great ministry opportunity to get involved in – a number of people from NightChurch have already signed up for programs in Byron Bay, Lorne and Rye. You can also help out by buying a bottle of pancake mixture and bringing it to church to donate to the Red Frogs team. For more details see http://au.redfrogs.com.

TRIVIA NIGHT: Saturday 17 November, 7.30pm at the church hall. Fundraiser for Khmer RodeRAGE (Ride Against Greenhouse Emissions). Cost is $15 per person, book online at: http://tiny.cc/4284lw.

MORNING PRAYER: Every weekday the church is open from 7.30am (6.30am on Tuesdays) for prayer. You can pray together with others or just enjoy the space and silence of hanging out with God alone. A great way to start the day!

WORSHIP ROSTER CORRECTION: Please note there is an error in the current Term 4 Worship Roster. ‘Carols in the Park’ is actually on Sunday 2 December, which means our Summer Mission Commissioning Service will now be swapped to Sunday 9 December. Anyone rostered on for either of those services has been advised by separate email of the updated arrangements. Any questions or concerns, please contact the church office: info@kewbaptist.net.au.

HOUSEMATE REQUIRED: Josh Hardidge (great cook and myotherapist) and Luke Gibbons (aka Gibbo) are looking for a female housemate to move in to their amazing apartment with a spacious lounge room and city views.  Looking for someone to move in mid-November, please contact Luke Gibbons if you’re interested.

WEBSITE OF THE WEEK: Windows 8 was released on Friday of last week. This week I thought I’d feature a detailed review of Windows 8 that can be found at http://t.co/1P49QAQx. Windows 8 is quite different to other versions of Windows that have been released previously.
