NightChurch News, 7 December

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: We have the Kew Community Carols at Petrie Square (cnr Cotham Rd & Charles St, opposite Kew Library). At 6:30pm there will be a BBQ, Vietnamese food stalls and kids’ activities. The carols program will commence at 7:30pm. Please note that there will be no NightChurch service on this evening. Come to the carols instead! We would love you to help in any way you can – set up/pack up, BBQ, activities for kids, singing in the choir. Please contact the church office if you want to get involved! More details: www.facebook.com/events/1478817369072927

LOVE ABBOTSFORD: Sunday 14 December, 12-4pm at 229 Hoddle St, Collingwood. There will be sport, music, face painting, a BBQ, and it will be a chance to continue to build relationships with the people there. LIGHT UP: Churches in the City of Boroondara have been invited to participate in the “Light Up” project (see here for details: http://sthils.com/light-up-church-information). If you are interested in organising a display for our church (Christmas lights/decorations etc), please contact the office. We would love your help!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Interserve and Melbourne School of Theology (MST) are running a workshop in September 2015 called ’When Women Speak’. This will bring together twenty women who are scholars in the field of missions and Islam to provide opportunity to share learning, encourage and support each other, build resources, and publish them for the benefit of the wider mission community – both mission practitioners and academic contributors to missiology. Invitees are from a range of countries in both the global north and the global south. The workshop organisers are seeking volunteer administrative support for the months leading up to (and one month following) the workshop itself, starting this December. For details, please contact Ann Voutier: ann.vicoffice@gmail.com.

2015 CALENDAR: We are starting to put together a draft church calendar for 2015. To assist us in this process, please submit any dates you may have for events/meetings next year to the church office.

TITHING: A reminder that you can give your weekly offering via direct debit to the church account.

PRAYER: There is prayer at the back of the church at 5pm every Sunday. We’d love you to join with us in this important ministry!

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
