ABOUT THE PROJECT
We will be recording a four-track EP of congregational worship songs, featuring three originals and one cover:
- Psalm 96 (Sing to the Lord)
- Fix Our Eyes on Jesus
- Nothing but the Blood
- Daughters and Sons
The EP will be recorded live with the congregation on Sunday 25 August at our NightChurch service.
These songs have been in our church repertoire for a few years now and we have witnessed first-hand how God has been using them to minister to His people and edify His church, for His glory. Several other churches have also been singing some of these songs with their congregations, and it has become increasingly clear that having a proper recording of these songs would be a valuable ministry resource – not just for our own church, but for other churches as well. We want to make these songs as easily accessible as possible, to further bless people and to share the heart of Jesus! Once the recordings are completed, we will also be making the chord charts and sheet music freely available for download on our website, to further help resourcing churches.
The projected expenditure to complete this recording is $11,500. This is an emerging ministry of our church, so we don’t have an established budget to finance such a large creative project. The church has generously put forward $2,500 of seed money to get us started, but we are relying on crowdfunded donations to cover the remaining $9,000. Below is a breakdown of how this crowdfunded amount will be used:
Recording engineer: $4,200
Equipment hire: $1,200
CD production: $1,300
The seed money from the church budget will go towards additional administrative expenses (including advertising).
Any surplus funds raised from our crowdfunding campaign will go towards our Creative Arts Ministry, helping to fund ‘stretch goals’ such as creating music videos for these tracks and also recording other songs in the future.
