Rev Nicholas Tuohy (Senior Pastor)
Nicholas has been in local church pastoral leadership for 22 years, and Senior Pastor at Kew Baptist since 2011. Before entering Christian ministry he worked as a professional chef for ten years in 5 Star Hotels. He completed a BTheol (Hons) and Adv Dip Min through Melbourne College of Divinity, and went on to receive a Grad Cert Arts (Theology) from Australian Catholic University. In 2011 he completed a Master of Philosophy thesis exploring the intersection between hospitality and spirituality, and in 2018 completed a Master of Arts (Theology) with Ridley College. His primary gifting and calling is in the areas of preaching and teaching, leadership, creative arts and worship, and evangelism. Nicholas is married to Amanda.
Lauren Pickering (Worship & Integration Pastor)
Lauren originally completed a music degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium, before going on to work in administration. After several years as a church administrator and worship coordinator, she began to sense a longer-term call to pastoral ministry. She completed her graduate theological degree last year at Melbourne School of Theology and is looking forward to stepping into this formal pastoral role.
Amy Gellie (Generations Pastor)
Amy is a primary school teacher by trade, teaching mostly at Christian College Geelong in the Middle School campus (Years 5 – 9), and also preschool and Junior School. She has had 17 years of ministry leadership experience in youth leadership, women’s ministry leadership, as a Youth For Christ intern, Sunday school teacher, Red Frog’s leadership and as a brothel support chaplain. Amy loves her role with Mark as Managers of Kew Student Residence and is really looking forward to her new role as Generations Pastor at KBC.
Amanda Tuohy (Spiritual Care Pastor)
Amanda has served in churches for 30 years in leadership, preaching, pastoral care, mentoring and music ministry. She has worked as a Chaplain at the Austin Hospital, an Associate Pastor at Central Baptist Church, UK, and has written and illustrated two books in her work as a wildlife artist. She has an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education, a Bachelor of Theology from Melbourne University and a Diploma in Creative Arts (Honours) from Wesley Institute for Ministry and the Arts.
Benji Taylor (Interim Administrator)
Benji has been at Kew Baptist as a member for several years after commencing in the Res in 2016. He has just completed his 4th year of medical studies and after recently marrying Emily, has decided to have a gap year of sorts.

Mark & Amy Gellie
Mary & Amy Gellie commenced as managers of the Kew Student Residence in July 2017.
They live on-site (along with their children Briah, Sam & Lewie), and are readily available to chat with students, provide pastoral care and general support.
Mark was previously a pastor at Barrabool Baptist Church in Geelong since 2004, was Chaplain of the Geelong Football Club 2009-14, and has extensive experience working with tertiary students and students transitioning from high school to university, particularly through the development of the Red Frogs program in Victoria.
Leadership Team (Diaconate)
Deacons are the elected leaders of the church, accountable to God and also to the wider congregation. They seek to lead and govern the church in line with our core beliefs and covenant. The Deacons provide spiritual oversight and leadership of the congregation in partnership with the pastor and ministry team.
