This Week @ NightChurch
We continue our series on ‘Love’, with Paul Pallot preaching on ‘Loving the Unlovable (Luke 6:27-36)’. Bree Monahan is leading the service, Dave Powys is organising the music team, Phil Prior and Emily Chung are on audio/data, Amanda Tuohy will lead in prayer, Sarah Powys will be providing supper, and Janine Hindle is convening. Thanks everyone.
Remain Festival: September 17-20, Belgrave Heights
Remain is a festival for young adults, aimed at encouraging and equipping Christians in their faith. It will be four days of teaching, worship, fun, food and community. Speakers include Guy Mason, Mark Sayers, Brenton Killeen, and Hannah Craven. Early bird tickets are available for $120 until Friday 31 July, and then full price tickets will be available for $160. So get in quick this week and book your ticket! There will be a crew from NightChurch heading to Remain and setting up a bit of a KBC campsite there – check out www.facebook.com/events/1644364472441945/ for more details. And see http://remainfestival.com.au for more information about the festival itself.
There will also be a market at Remain and they are currently looking for some great stalls to be a part of it. If you are interested in hosting a stall at the market, please contact the church office for more information.
Hospitality Sunday: 23 August
This Sunday (2 Aug) is the last chance to sign up to join with others from Kew Baptist for lunch, or dinner after NightChurch, in someone’s home. All will share in providing food and drink. Don’t miss out! Urgent request – if you’ve signed up but cannot now attend, please contact Deirdre Willis ASAP.
Sunday School & Crèche
Volunteers are needed to help out with Sunday School and Crèche on Sunday mornings, during the 10am worship service. If you’re able to help out (even if just once a month!) or you’re interested in finding out more, please speak to Bree Monahan or Liz Pell.
40 Hour Famine
2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the World Vision 40 Hour Famine. Since 1988, Kew Baptist has participated in the Famine for 12 years and raised over $17,000. This year it is taking place on the weekend of August 14-16 and it would be great for our church to get involved, so we’re looking for someone to head up the KBC team. Please contact the office if you think this might be the job for you!
Tuesday Prayer Breakfast
We run a weekly Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday mornings, 7-8am in The Lounge (upstairs in the hall). With winter here, we are serving porridge (delicious!) as part of breakfast – something to warm you up before you face the rest of the day. Don’t miss out! Remember you can also join our 5pm prayer gathering on Sundays before the service in the church building.
A reminder that you can give your offering via direct transfer to the church account.
