NightChurch News 20 May 2012

CHURCH DISCERNMENT GATHERING: Sunday 4.30pm in the hall, and the meal to follow at 6pm. The key items for discussion and prayer will be:

  • Where do we see signs of God’s work among us as a church?
  • How are we bringing the Good News of Jesus in word and deed to our community, and what ways are there to do this more?

And we will hear some updates on staffing, etc, etc. Really important that we all share together in this.

FOOD: If you want to help with Sunday’s meal, and you are good at making soup, please call Grace Leslie who is organising the meal.

GIVING: In May we want to donate $5000 in support of mission—helping to buy a car for an amazing ministry on some islands north of Australia where people who have never heard the good news of Jesus are hearing it for the first time, and supporting the internship of Sarah Trebilcock with Global Interaction and Kew Baptist Church. At the meal on Sunday night, donations for this will be welcome!

NIGHTCHURCH: Caz James is leading, and Andy Mitchell will speak on the second topic in the MOVED series, Moved by others, Acts 8:1-25, and we will share in communion. Tom Holley is coordinating the music team, Steph Ward will lead in prayer, Phil Prior and Cail Rayment are on audio/data, Kate Steel and Laura Baker are bringing supper, and Laura Holley is the convener.

GUYS’ NIGHT OUT—BOXING: Friday 25 May, Meet in the car park at 7pm, and go off and learn boxing from Shehara Devadason. There will be a meal after the boxing.
