NightChurch News, 21 December

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: This Sunday night there will be some worship and sharing a BBQ together. We will gather in the church building from 5:30-6:30 and then head over to the hall/BBQ area for dinner.

DISCIPLESHIP INTENSIVE YEAR: We are excited to announce a big development for Young Adults at KBC for 2015: “DIY: Discipleship Intensive Year”

Quick facts:

  • Community-based discipleship and spiritual formation gap-year
  • Fully accredited Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology from Australian College of Ministries (ACOM)
  • Fee Help and Youth Allowance/Austudy Accredited
  • Live in or out
  • 18-24yo

In the early church in the book of Acts 2:42–47, we see a snapshot of how they went about faith and life:

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer…

All the believers were together and had everything in common…

Every day they continued to meet together…

They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts…

What’s changed? Why not give God a year and intentionally devote yourself to seeking Him and fellowship with other followers of Jesus? It could literally change the trajectory of your life, and build foundations in faith for the years ahead. Full details and booklet here:

CHILD-MINDING: The team at Global Interaction are looking for people to help with child-minding for their training courses for cross-cultural workers in January and early February. A day or two, a full week, or a weekend retreat. It’s a paid gig! Contact Susan Campbell if you are interested:

  • Pray for all those involved with missions and camps over the summer
  • Remember that there is prayer at the back of the church at 5pm every Sunday. We’d love you to join with us in this important ministry!

TITHING: A reminder that you can give your weekly offering via direct debit to the church account.

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
