THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: We welcome guest speaker Brendon Birch from Baptist World Aid Australia to share with us about ‘Practical Justice’. Paul Pallot is leading the service, Tom Tuena and Romona Boswell are organising the music team, Jono Davenport will lead in prayer, Mike Follent and Coby Docking will be praying up the back, Zach Moore and Jono Davenport are on audio/data, and Will and Katie-Ann Baird will be providing supper. Thanks everyone.
KBC CHURCH CAMP: The 2014 Kew Baptist Church Camp is only THREE weeks away! We will be heading off to Camp Wilkin in Anglesea on the weekend of July 11-13. There will be no official program, just a chance to have some rest and relaxation and to get to know each other. More info and registration can be found here on our website: http://tinyurl.com/l4zoq8d. Registrations are due by Friday 27 June, so make sure you don’t miss out!!
UPPER ROOM: Join us in the church hall onWednesday 25 June from 7.30pm for an evening of prayer and worship in song. It’s a great opportunity to intentionally set aside time to seek God, relax, and soak in Him, opening our lives to His Spirit and praying for our world and each other. For those in the midst of exams, this would be a great study break!
SHARING STORIES: On Sunday 6 July, we’re having a slightly different sort of service at NightChurch. It’s called “Sharing our Stories of Faith”, and it’s a chance for you to share about how God has worked or is working in your life with us all, to encourage us and direct us in thanking God for what he’s doing. All sorts of stories of faith would be great – joyful stories, tough stories, stories of grace, stories of struggle, stories of thankfulness. If you’d like to share something on that Sunday, please let Paul Pallot know over the next couple of weeks. If you know someone else who might have something to share, feel free to let Paul know and he is happy to ask them if they’d like to share.
LEF ANNUAL DINNER: Ladies Evening Fellowship are having their annual dinner on Tuesday 24 June, at 7pm in the church hall and we’re all invited! LEF is a group of ladies from morning church who meet once a month to share with each other and listen to a speaker. They are an incredible group and have a lot of love and wisdom to share with us slightly younger women. It’s a 3 course dinner and is open to anybody, males included. They are hoping to have final numbers by this weekend to help with catering and table settings so contact Janine Hindle if you would like to attend.
ULTIMATE PEACE: Matt Hill is heading over to the Middle East this week to volunteer as a coach at the Ultimate Peace camp. Check out this video to get an idea of what it’s all about: http://vimeo.com/54248736. And if you would like to help Matt cover some of his costs by donating to the camp, you can do so here: http://tinyurl.com/kanqee7.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED: Looking towards next term, we have a need for Sunday School teachers during the 10am service. A commitment of one term (9 weeks) at a time is asked for, materials are available to follow, and support and encouragement given. No previous experience required. If you are interested in serving our families and encouraging our primary-age children in this way, Jennie Taylor or Bree Monahan would be happy to give you more information. Alternatively, Liz Pell would love to have a chat with you.
PRAYER: There is prayer at the back of the church at 5pm every Sunday. We’d love you to join with us in this important ministry!
That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
