NightChurch News, 23 March

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: Amanda Tuohy will bring us the next message in our Gen-Ex sermon series, preaching on ‘Joseph – Unfavourite Favoured One (Genesis 37-50)’. Paul Pallot is leading the service, Lauren Morgan is organising the music team, Zach Moore and James Hayes are on audio/data, Mat Hunter will lead in prayer, Hannah O’Brien will be providing supper, and Kristy Chapman is convening. Thanks everyone.

BREAKY WITH THE BLOKES: Hey Gents, if you love food and sharing faith together, come and hang out with us for breakfast on Friday 21 March at 7am. We will be meeting at a café in the Camberwell area. Bring yourself and some money for breakfast. Call Luke Gibbons  by 19 March if you’d like to come along.

HIGH TEA FOR T21: In association with Down Syndrome Victoria, Felicia Prior is hosting a morning tea to raise funds for those living with Down Syndrome. Friday 21 March, 10.30am. Please bring along a sweet treat to share, and a generous spirit to raise funds and awareness for Down Syndrome. Thank you for your support!

KBC DISCIPLESHIP SEMINAR: Friday 28 March, 6-9pm (dinner included) and Saturday 29 March, 9am-3pm (lunch included) in the church hall. The Friday night session is aimed at anyone interested in discipleship in general (being discipled or discipling others). The Saturday session is specifically for those interested in discipling others. Cost will be $5 per day to cover food. For more information, please contact Kyle or Jane Horton.

HOSPITALITY LUNCHES: Sunday 30 March. This is such a great way to connect with people across 10am and NightChurch. If you are not signed up and would still like to be a part of it, please speak to Deirdre Willis.

CARRICAL BBQ: Once a month a team from KBC puts on a BBQ dinner at Carrical Rooming House in Hawthorn (18 Mason St) – they bring along some food and spend time with the guys there, getting to know them and forming relationships with people in our local community. The next BBQ is happening on Saturday 22 March. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Grace Loh.

PRAYER AND HEALING NIGHT: Wednesday 26 March, 7.30pm in the hall. This is a time to intentionally set aside time to seek God, open our lives to His Spirit, and pray for our world and each other. What will these nights look like?

  • Biblical readings and teaching
  • Worship and praise in song
  • Corporate prayer
  • Opportunity to receive prayer

EXPLORING BAPTISM: Have you ever wondered what baptism and church membership are all about? We would love to have you come along to find out a bit more. You don’t have to get baptised at the end of the course, and you can ask any questions you want! Our Senior Pastor, Nicholas Tuohy, will lead the course. 30 March and 6 April, 4-5pm at the KBC Manse (6 Highbury Grv). Let Nicholas know if you are interested. There will be a baptism service at both the 10am and NightChurch services on 13 April.

LOVE ABBOTSFORD: Saturday 12 April, 11am-5pm. Love Abbotsford is back for 2014! This is an opportunity for us to show love to the young people and families at the Collingwood Housing Estates on Hoddle Street. We head into the Estates’ grounds and run a fun day of sports (basketball, soccer, frisbee), children’s activities, host a free BBQ and provide live music for the residents and neighbours to enjoy! To make the event happen, we need lots of volunteers from Kew to come along and help out. If you’d like to be involved, sign up on the Facebook event (see Kew Baptist Church page or NightChurch group), or speak to Paul Pallot. Let’s try to make this our biggest Love Abbotsford event yet!

ESA MOVIE FUNDRAISER – ‘NOAH’: Join the ESA community for a fun night out at the movies and support the ongoing work of ESA. Saturday 29 March at Balwyn Palace Cinema, 6pm for a 6.30pm movie start. More info here:

PRAYER: There is prayer at the back of the church at 5pm every Sunday. We’d love you to join with us in this important ministry!

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
