NightChurch News, 29 March

THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: We will continue our series “Church. What’s The Point?” with Nicholas Tuohy preaching on the theme of ‘A New Community’. Bree Monahan is leading the service, Lauren Morgan is organising the music team, Zach Moore is on audio/data, TBC will lead in prayer, Nicholas and Sarah Barclay will be providing supper, and Graeme Younger is convening. Thanks everyone.

This Sunday night after NightChurch, you are invited to a night of fun, friendship and food at The House (next to the church) from 7:30pm. Let’s share dinner and conversation together, meet some new faces and catch up with old ones. A $5 donation would be much appreciated to keep our costs minimal. We hope to see you all there! Love Graeme, Rachel, Sam, Janine & Bree (The House).

EASTER @ KBC: Check out what’s on at Kew Baptist for Easter Week:

EQUIP – DISCIPLESHIP, MENTORING & LEADERSHIP: Following on from some excellent leadership training nights last year, we have set in place four events for this year. The aim of these nights is to encourage and equip people in the church to be better leaders and followers of Christ by being mentored and taught by mature and wise Christian leaders. Some of the areas to be explored are:

  • Christ-likeness in life and leadership
  • Refining both internal character and external actions
  • Leading teams and running effective meetings
  • How to recruit and motivate volunteers

So put these dates in your schedule now: 16 April (Peter Corney), 11 June (Peter Corney), 10 September (Peter Corney), 12 November (TBA).

MUSIC TEAM: Calling all musicians! We’re keen to have more people stepping up to be involved in the music ministry at Kew Baps. If you’re interested in being a part of the music team or just finding out more about it – please contact Lauren Morgan (

HOSPITALITY SUNDAY: Sign up to join in/host a meal with others from Kew Baptist on Sunday 26 April. For more information, please contact Deirdre Willis.

PRAYER BREAKFASTS: We run a weekly Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday mornings, 7-8am in The Lounge (upstairs in the hall). Put it in your schedule and start the day with worship, prayer, food and friends at KBC. Remember you can also join our 5pm prayer gathering before the service in the church building.

RESOURCE LIBRARY: We are building up a rich collection of resources, with approximately 100 books and 30 DVDs currently available to borrow from the church. There are materials for small groups as well as for individual study, with a range of study guides, commentaries, apologetics, and other resources available. You can view the catalogue on our website: Or simply drop in and have a browse! We have a collection in the Ministry Centre (16 Highbury Grv), as well as some other resources in the church building. Some are for borrowing, others are free to take home!

TITHING: A reminder that you can give your weekly offering via direct debit to the church account.

That’s all for this edition of NightChurch News – Steve Pattison.
