THIS WEEK @ NIGHTCHURCH: On Sunday night we are having a Servolution! This is a chance to learn more about service opportunities and how to get involved. It will essentially operate like a sign-up fair, with booths stationed around the church to demonstrate all the different ways people serve in our community (e.g. Boost Youth, worship team, Carrical, property maintenance, hospitality, Karana, audio/data, welcoming… the list goes on!) with the opportunity to ask questions about these different ministries, and – most importantly – to sign up for them!
Matt Hill is leading the service, Joshi Philip is organising the music team, Luke Gibbons will lead in prayer, The House is convening, Dave Hore-Lacy and Phil Prior are on audio/data, and Callan Stephen is providing supper. Thanks everyone.
CHURCH GATHERING & LUNCH: There is also a church meeting this Sunday, straight after the 10am service in the hall. This is an opportunity for us to gather as a church community and discern God’s leading for our future. Please plan to attend! There will be a light lunch provided for a gold coin donation.
RICE COLLECTION: Moreland Baptist Church is trying to collect half a ton of rice to give to some asylum seekers in the Brunswick area. If you would like to contribute, please buy a bag of rice when you go shopping during the week and bring it to church on Sunday night. Matt Hill will be collecting any contributions and taking them to Moreland Baptist the week after.
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: Friday 1 March is the World Day of Prayer. Our local World Day of Prayer service is at 10.30am at St Paul’s East Kew (Corner of Windella Ave and Hale St). This is an important service when we can gather locally and ecumenically (with Kew’s 8 churches involved) and join with Christians around the world – many countries will be participating in it on the same day. All will use the same service and this year this has been prepared by women in France. Our local service this year will have a distinct flavour featuring French music, language, food (at the morning-tea after) and prayer/reflection.
RUBIK CUBE HOUSE PARTY: The House have their housewarming party on Friday 1 March, kicking off at 7pm. The theme is Rubik’s Cube, so the idea is to wear six different coloured items of clothing (white, blue, red, yellow, green, orange) and then aim to change into one single colour by exchanging items of clothing throughout the night. Things to bring: something edible to dip into melted chocolate, and a spare pair of long, heavy-duty pants and enclosed shoes to change into for activities at 10.30pm. Everyone is welcome!
MONTHLY BREW: As mentioned by Matt Hill last Sunday night, there is a monthly gathering at his place on the first Saturday of every month. Great opportunity to hang out and get to know people in the NightChurch community – everyone is welcome! So come along this Saturday, from 3pm until late. Bring some meat and drinks and get ready for a good time!
