The church retains strong links with the Karana Baptist Aged Care Community in Walpole Street, Kew, which was founded by Kew Baptist Church and Baptist Union of Victoria.
Karana now operates under the auspices of Baptcare. Until recently, some residents from Karana attended Sunday Services at Kew Baptist Church.
In the 1990s, it was recognised that many Karana residents were unable to attend KBC or other church services due to their difficulties with mobility. Members of Kew Baptist Church began to hold a Sunday morning service at Karana, and this has proved to be very popular with the residents in the succeeding years. Around 30 people gather each Sunday morning at 10.30 am. The pastor and others from the Kew Baptist community are involved with the planning of these services which are overseen by the Chaplains at Karana.
Residents at Karana also meet for chapel during the week, and other special events are held. Details can be obtained from the Karana website or from the Chaplain, on (03) 9854 9200.
